A Floor-Standing Battery Solution
Energy storage systems come in different installation formats, from wall-mounted units designed to save floor space to floor-standing batteries, rack-based installations and larger cabinet or container systems. Each format has its own requirements for equipment support, access, ventilation and electrical integration.
For projects that call for a floor-standing battery, the installation area must accommodate the unit's weight and dimensions while providing a suitable surface, sufficient working space and access to the electrical connections.
The Tenz Energy ECO-314L-(ST) is a floor-standing lithium-ion energy storage battery with a nominal voltage of 51.2V, a capacity of 314Ah and nominal energy of 16.0768kWh. Its 120kg ±3kg weight and 890.5 × 420 × 267mm dimensions are important considerations when planning the installation.
Designed to be integrated into a compatible energy storage system, the battery supports CAN and RS485 communication. Up to 16 compatible units may be connected in parallel, subject to the product instructions and the requirements of the complete system.
Floor-Standing Energy Storage: What to Consider Before Installation
A floor-standing battery needs a stable, level and non-flammable supporting surface. The installation plan should account for the battery's weight, handling access, cable routing and the space required for inspection and heat dissipation.
The ECO-314L-(ST) has an IP20 protection rating, so it must be installed in a dry, ventilated location protected from rain and direct water exposure. Its specified charging temperature range is 0°C to 40°C, while the discharging range is -20°C to 40°C.
The product instructions also advise against stacking battery units in multiple layers. Before installation, confirm that the chosen location, electrical equipment and protective devices meet the requirements of the complete system.
