manganese dioxide
Lithium metal is used as the negative electrode, manganese dioxide after heat treatment is used as the positive electrode, and the isolation membrane is made of PP or PE film. The cylindrical battery is the same as the lithium-ion battery separator, and the electrolyte is an organic solution of lithium perchlorate, cylindrical or buckle type. Batteries need to be produced in a dry environment with a humidity of ≤ 1%.
Features: Low self discharge rate, annual self discharge can be ≤ 1%, fully sealed (metal welded, lazer seal) batteries can meet a lifespan of 10 years, and semi sealed batteries generally have a lifespan of 5 years. If the work control is not good, this lifespan cannot be reached. Yiwei, which has done a good job in the development of cylindrical lithium manganese batteries, has achieved automated production, and the batteries can achieve tests such as short circuits and over discharges without explosion.
Generally, on the motherboard of desktop computers, there is a button type lithium battery that provides weak current and can be used normally for about 3 years. Some hotels also use lithium manganese dioxide batteries for access cards, instruments, and meters, and their usage is decreasing year by year.
Thionyl chloride
A cylindrical battery with lithium metal as the negative electrode, thionyl chloride (sulfoxide chloride) as the positive electrode and electrolyte. It is charged upon assembly and has a voltage of 3.6V. It is one of the most stable types of batteries with the highest capacity per unit volume (mass). Suitable for use on electronic instruments and equipment that cannot be frequently maintained, providing subtle currents.
Other lithium batteries include lithium-ferrous sulfide batteries, lithium-sulfur oxide batteries, etc.
